An Unfinished Score

Elise Blackwell has written a lyrical book. Even if you are not a music student, this story of love, loss, friendship and music will appeal to you.

Suzanne, a concert violist, is preparing dinner for her husband, Ben, her best friend, Petra, and Petra's daughter,Adele, when she hears the news that her lover, Alex Elling (a famous conductor) is killed in a plane crash. Silently mourning, she is contacted by Alex's widow, forcing her to complete a concerto, unfinished at his death.

Suzanne struggling with her feelings, her cold husband, trying to keep her secrets, and the problems with the music, finally finishes and prepares to unveil it to the public.

The final twist may surprise you!

As I said, the writing is lyrical, the story compelling, and the ending a surprise. Any lover of music will like the ins and outs of the story, and any lover of love may learn a little something new.

I received this book from Library Thing Early Reviewers.

  1. Not a music student or even a great lover of music in general, I really liked the sound of this book.
