How I spent my summer

Spent the summer looking for work and reading a wide array of books. Still no job. I guess it is true what they say ..."it's hell getting old". I am over qualified for most of the jobs available, too expensive, or they take one look and think "you are not front office material, girl". So I read 40 books, between sending out resumes and going to interviews. The reading was much better than the job hunt. More rewarding at the very least.
I love books! I have several thousand books and when I run out of bookspace, I guess it will be time for me to die. I am always looking for a book to read, fiction, nonfiction, it makes no difference to me. I have a passion for the printed word. That is one thing I can thank my Mom for. When I was little, she would lay on her bed with me on an old chenille bedspread and read to me. It was the best memory of my life. She taught me the importance of books, ideas and just the beauty of words. God, I miss her.
