Escaped the snow

As the wind blew and blew, the snow went right over us. We got a light dusting, nothing major, but this did not stop me from finishing "True Evil" by Greg Iles.

What a fine story teller he is! I have read several of his books and enjoyed every one. "True Evil" captured me from the beginning and took me on a rollicking read. His characters are true, his writing is fast paced and always interesting. The plot was not too fussed up with romance, although there was a nice secondary plot going in that direction. Set in my beloved south, I got to take yet another trip from the comfort of my chair. Lately I have found non-fiction to be far more interesting than fiction, but I did like this book.

Started "The River of Doubt" by Candice Millard today. It is the story of Theodore Roosevelt's trip exploring the Amazon. So far it is fascinating and chock full of information that surprises me. I hope it continues to surprise.

  1. Both books mentioned in this entry sound like good reads.
