Dead Car Disaster

My son's dead car has been sitting in my driveway for 5 months and today someone finally agreed to take it away. Well they rolled it into the street, blocking the neighbors driveway, and started to winch it onto a car trailer, when the cable broke! Of course, the neighbor was patiently sitting in his car waiting to get into his garage, when the dead car started racing toward him. I wish I had a camera, three grown men chasing a car rolling downhill backwards, wondering what they were planning to do if they caught it, covering my eyes as it barely missed the neighbor and banged into another neighbors fence. So now in addition to fixing the neighbors fence, I will have to dye my new gray hairs. If it hadn't been so awful, it would have been hysterically funny.

I will talk about the two Harlequin's tomorrow. I need a drink!

  1. Oh, my gosh! How awful . . . and, yet, you made it sound so funny. Strange how those moments are better in the retelling than they are to experience.

BTW, I've had a dead car on my driveway for about 2 years. I've gotta get that thing hauled away, but I think I'll be very careful when I do, possibly sign it over to whoever hauls it so it's not my responsibility. :)
