King of Cannes

"King of Cannes" by Stephen Walker was a fast, funny read. He is a documentary film director for the BBC, who decided to follow some first time directors to the Cannes Film Festival, documenting their triumphs and disasters along the way. With a tiny budget and uncooperative subjects, the ensuing story is sad, funny and somehow he managed to create the film, "Waiting for Harvey", referring to Harvey Weinstein, the famous producer, which was broadcast to strong reviews on the BBC. Truth is sometimes much stranger than fiction!
