Moab Utah

So sorry...lol. Moab is a tiny town in the high desert of southern Utah. It is beauty beyond imagination. The rock formations and hills are the perfect backdrop for Extreme Jeeping and Biking. If you ever see Jeeps tipping over on TV it is usually in Moab.

  1. When I was a girl at boarding school in Africa, fingerbowls (it was an old fashioned colonial school) were known as Moabs. This was because of the line in Psalm 60 : 'Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe:'. Moab was one of the middle eastern Kingdoms in the time of the Old Testament, and Israel did not like Moab or the Moabites, they claimed God didn't like Moab either! Who knows?

  2. Ah, thanks for that! I was thinking of the Biblical Moab hershelian mentioned. No idea where that is - or, I guess, was. :)

  3. I forget that not everyone in the world is Jeep crazy! There is a book called Moab is my Washpot, by Stephen Fry, but I never put it together with the Biblical Moab. As beautiful as Moab is, though, I think maybe God likes this one.

  4. Thanks for explaining and for the picture. And thanks to Bookfool for being brave and asking. I would've just wallowed in ignorance a while longer...

  5. Yes, I've heard of Moab from the Bible too, but the place you've been to looks amazing.
So glad you enjoyed HP7 too!
