Leveling

Things are leveling out a little, unless you count a MAN with flu, the death of a dear friend and a noise level matching a 747 in your living room. The last few years I was a fairly solitary person, reading, working from home with just fluffy Jack to keep me company. The noise alone is enough to send me screaming into the street, but the girls loved their first snow, they like their new school, their mom has a job and everything will get better.

I locked myself in a room and read all four Twilight books in a week and felt as if my eyeballs were going to explode, but even being late to the Twilight bandwagon, I really did enjoy them. I even bought the movie and had a girls night with the kids. I fear I am getting sucked into the suburban school thing much more than I wanted to, but I couldn't resist signing up to be a mystery reader for the 3rd grade class. I am reading Just So stories by Kipling. God, I loved those stories when I was a kid. And I am invited to a brunch with the 5th grade class after taking part in a generations project. SIGH....Maybe quiet isn't all it's cracked up to be!

  1. That's really the fun part -- getting to read to a class. You might as well enjoy it, right? :)
