A Circle of Souls

I received this book from the author, Preetham Grandhi about a week ago and started it right away. It was a very interesting, thought provoking, book.

A mystery set in the quiet town of Newbury, Connecticut, the story is both entertaining and it really makes you think about what happens when you die. When a little girl is horribly murdered, FBI agent Leia Bines is called in to assist with the investigation. With little to go on, frustrated law enforcement is at a loss.

Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at the local hospital is caring for a seven year old who is having terrible nightmares. Naya Hastings has been walking and talking in her sleep and her parents fear she will injure herself, so they turn to the young doctor to help her. When she is admitted to the children’s psych ward, she continues her night time conversations, with an unseen entity.

Peter discovers that Naya has been drawing, strange representations of things she could not possibly know about. Peter and Leia work together to find the monster, using clues found in the drawings.

This book was wonderful to read and challenging to review for some reason (hard to put it into words) , but I can highly recommend it. A Circle of Souls will make you think for a long time after you read the last page.
