Truly Plaice is shrinking, which is a good thing since she is huge. Her teacher called her a giant.
When her parents died, she went to live with poor relatives, while her beautiful sister, Serena Jane, went to live with a wealthy family (who were not willing to take in the huge, strange girl), who gave her everything she ever wanted.
Serena Jane seems to have a perfect life, loads of friends, beautiful new clothes, while Truly has her silent cousin, and a small strange boy in her class, Marcus, for friends.
As they get older, Serena Jane marries the Doctor's son, Marcus goes to war and Truly is still working on the farm with her cousin. Eventually, Truly ends up in the Doctor's house after her sister vanishes, leaving her child behind.
This book is full of secrets, (I seem to be reading a lot of secrets lately), magic, and many different kinds of love, all written beautifully.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves love in all its forms, mixed with a little magic, and lots of secrets, and heart.
I received this book from Bostick Communications for review. Thank you!
