Angel Burn-L.A. Weatherly

Willow is a strange teen aged girl. She is psychic and can tell the future paths your life could take. When she reads Beth, a girl from her school, she sees a bleak and terrible future. She tries to explain, but Beth isn't listening.Willow lives with her mentally ill mother and her aunt, barely making it, so charging small fees for readings and working on cars helps to make ends meet.

Alex is an Angel Killer, trained from a young age, in the desert by his father and older brothers, his whole education revolves around the killing of angels.

Angels have come to Earth, in order to ensure their continued existence. Feeding on unsuspecting humans, who feel they are being rewarded by having Angels care about them, they cause damage and leave their prey sick, weak and some psychotic. If only the humans knew!

What no one knows is that Willow has a big secret. SHe alone will have the ability to save humanity. After a rocky start, she and Alex will become friends and more.

Angels are not the wonderful creatures we have been led to believe in, and all humankind is at risk.

This YA novel surprised me with a terrific storyline, and wonderful characters. I found myself staying up late to finish, and I can hardly wait for the next book in the series. While there is some language and romance, this is appropriate for the mature middle schooler. I will give this to my 13 year old granddaughter to read.

I enjoyed this book a lot!

This was an E-Book from Net Galley for review.
