Sunday Salon

It has been awhile since I did a Sunday Salon, so I thought I would catch up a little. Last month was wonderful and busy, with my family reunion, my Dad and Step-mom came for a visit, the grand-kids are visiting their Dad, so the house has been rearranged.

We are going to Moab on Tuesday so I can pick up the sign that hung in front of my favorite bookstore there, The Arches Book Company! I wrote a lament here when I found out they had closed. The sign will look great in my library!

I did not get as much reading done as I had hoped, but have a few reviews coming up this week.

My son has some friends coming for the 4th, and I love it when "my boys" come home. We will be blowing stuff up and having some food. It will be a wonderful day for all of us.

My cd/dvd player on my laptop is dead, so I get to deal with the company, since the warranty expired about 36 days ago. Isn't that the way it always goes?

  1. I'm sorry to hear your favorite bookstore closed- what a bummer. I hope you have a nice Fourth though! :-)

  2. Blowing stuff up and having some food. That sounds like a great 4th. I was grant writing for my day job working through the fireworks. The only things I blew up were sentences, page numbers, and incomprehensible ideas. Sometimes it goes that way, yes. I'm sorry too about The Arches. So many independants have gone under it can get a bit depressing. The sign is a real treasure, though. It'll point towards the sun.

  3. Dropping by to say hello.

I think they now design all things electrical to malfunction within a month of the guarantee running out.
