Books I am looking forward to reading (when they come out)

First, let me say that every single person I wanted to tag for 8 things had already done it. So anyone else reading this, consider yourself tagged.

There are a few new books coming out soon that I am really excited about reading. "The Card" by Michael O'Keefe is the true story of the world's most desired baseball card.

"A Sense of the World-How a Blind Man Became the History's Greatest Traveler" by Jason Roberts, in a note from the publisher-" is a spellbinding and moving rediscovery of one of history's most epic lives.James Holman (1786-1857) became "one of the greatest wonders of the world he so sagaciously explored," triumphing not only over blindness but crippling pain, poverty, and the interference of well-meaning authorities (his greatest feat, a circumnavigation of the globe, had to be launched in secret)." I read a lot of nonfiction, so both of these are intriguing.

Also from the upcoming nonfiction list "When the Astors Owned New York" by Justin Kaplan, according to BookPage A fascinating social history as well as a fun gossipy read. Kaplan has an eye for both the dishy details and the deeper meaning beneath them. This vision makes When the Astors Owned New York the best kind of history: entertaining.

Some summer fun is right around the corner!

  1. The Card sounds like perfect reading for the baseball season. I guess that would be about the Honus Wagner card?

  3. How do you find out when books are coming out? Other people always seem to know, but I have no clue!

  4. Dewey- I look on different publishers websites, and read Publishers Weekly website. They have a calender of upcoming publications, when I find titles that interest me, I look for reviews or previews on Google. Makes me wish I was a bookseller, so I didn't have to dig so far..lol
