George Carlin 1937-2008

I was saddened to see that one of my favorite comedians died on Sunday. His way with language and questioning everything about our odd culture always made me smile at the very least, and often laugh til I cried. The Hippy Dippy weatherman is a classic. When I was younger, and still at home, his 7 words you can't say on TV always created a debate with my parents. In these later years, he still had the ability to make me laugh at our absurdity. I listened to his records (yes, I am that old) watched his comedy specials and my son became a huge fan as well, since he grew up watching me laugh with George. He once posted on a website that we laugh too little, but with his quick mind and amazing humor, he gave us all a little to laugh about. As I age, it makes me sad that sooner or later we will lose so many great talents, folks that got us through so many hard times. RIP Mr. Carlin. You will be missed.

  3. I know, I was too. He was such a talent, and really captured our wild hippy sensibilities. God, I loved to listen to him!
