BRIGHT SHINY MORNING

I like James Frey, I don't care if what he writes is absolute fact or somewhat true, or total fiction. James Frey is a GREAT writer!! I don't care about Oprah or her rude and mean spirited attacks, the man can write. "Bright Shiny Morning" is a terrific, compelling book about the lives of an odd assortment of people in Los Angeles. Lost and sometimes alone, they forge ahead, trying to make a life in a city that is not full of Angels. From the closeted gay action hero, to a homeless man, who lives in a bathroom, the characters grab you and hold on without ever letting go. The power of the writing takes you, like a fly on the wall, into the depths of their despair, into their humiliating experiences, and into their triumphs. This book will stay with me for a very long time.

  1. I think he was badly served by editors and publishers who should have certainly known better; A Million Little Pieces should've been published as a novel. I hope Frey can bounce back because he does have a gift.
