The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo- Stieg Larsson
What an amazing book this was. A detective story, a family history, a look into the darkest part of the human soul, all rolled into one great read. Do not be put off by the names of Swedish towns and landmarks, this is easily overcome and adds to the bleakness of the story. When a disgraced writer agrees to look into a missing persons case, over 30 years old,Mikael Blomkvist agrees to look into the case. He ends up teaming with a tattooed, computer super hacker, Lisbeth Salander, who is very private and with good reason. As they look for answers, ugly, ugly, things come out about the family, things no one wants brought to light. The story was excellent and the writing made me want to start over just as soon as I finished. This the first book of a trilogy, and I am so anxious to read the next two. The sad and way too soon death of the author makes it so much more thought provoking. A must read!!
