Benny and Shrimp

Katarina Mazetti has written an utterly charming love story, a perfect summer read.

They meet in a cemetery, Benny mourning his hard working mother, and Desiree (Shrimp) mourning her husband. He is a farmer, looking for love, someone to take over the things his mother had done. She is a librarian, loves opera and books, not really looking for love, but longing for a baby. They share a bench in the cemetery and watch each other out of the corner of their eyes, each curious about the other. Written in alternating voices, you will fall in love with both of them.

When they finally get together, the fundamental differences of their lives come into the spotlight. Can they make this work? Will they end up together? I did not want this to end!

You will love the characters, the writing, and the story of possibilities. This book was a huge hit in Sweden, and I think it will be a big hit here, as well. Refreshing, charming, enchanting, and bittersweet, this terrific book had me laughing and tearing up on the next page. Benny and Shrimp is a winner!

This book came into my hands from FSB Associates, Caitlin Price, and I thank her for it.
